North End Music & Performing Arts Center – Boston, MA

NEMPAC’s Prado teaching studios in Boston’s North End needed acoustic updates to suit the busy non-profit’s music education programming. The small teaching spaces with many hard surfaces were challenging and fatiguing to teach in, particularly with ensembles.

Wondersmith Audio first addressed isolation of the acoustic envelope in 3 teaching rooms and then designed and installed custom multicolored acoustic treatments. Wondersmith also provided interior design recommendations, including custom window treatments. The transformation of these 3 rooms is both aesthetic and acoustic: They now each have a colorful personality of their own, and acoustics that make learning and teaching easier.
